Ingredients:
| 2/3
| cup | Shortening | | 1
| cup | Sugar | | 2
| large | Eggs | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla | | 1
| cup | Flour | | 1/2
| tsp | Baking powder | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 1/2
| cup | Dry unsweet cocoa | | 1/2
| cup | Nuts, chopped* | | 1/2
| cup | Raisins* |

Procedures:
| 1 | *you may use either nuts, or raisins or both as you like. | | 2 | In an 8" square baking pan heat shortening over low heat until melted. | | 3 | Stir in sugar. | | 4 | Remove from heat and allow to cool. | | 5 | In a small bowl break eggs; add vanilla; beat until blended. | | 6 | Add to the sugar mixture in baking pan. | | 7 | Place dry ingredients in a sifter. | | 8 | Sift into baking pan. | | 9 | Mix well with a fork. | | 10 | Add nuts &/or fruit. | | 11 | Smooth top. | | 12 | Bake in a 350 °F. | | 13 | Oven 30 minutes. | | 14 | Cool. | | 15 | Cut into 16 peices. | | 16 | Enjoy |
