Hunter's clam chowder

Ingredients:
16 ozClams, liquor reserved
16 ozCream cheese
2 medPotato, peeled & finely
-chopped
2 cupWhole milk (or half and
-half)
1 cupWater
1/4 cupButter
1/2 lbsMushrooms
1/2 largeOnion, finely chopped
Butter, for sauteing
Procedures:
1Slice mushrooms and saute in butter; remove and set aside.
2Lightly saute onion in covered pan.
3Once done, add to pot along with water and bring to a boil.
4Add potato and cook covered until potatoes are done.
5Chunk cream cheese as well as possible (to aid in melting it) and add with mushrooms and clams.
6When cream cheese has completely melted, add milk.
7Heat but do not allow to boil.
8Melt the butter and add to chowder just prior to serving.
