| fl oz | Milk | | 25
| fl oz | Water | | 2 1/2
| lbs | Potatoes | | 1
| lbs | Onions | | 1
| pinch | Thyme | | | Clove | | | Salt and pepper |

Procedures:
| 1 | Peel and slice potatoes and onions. | | 2 | Add to pot with water, thyme and the whole clove. | | 3 | Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for about an hour. | | 4 | Rub through a sieve. | | 5 | Stir in milk, salt and pepper. | | 6 | Heat through without boiling, and serve. |
