Mom's beef stroganoff

Ingredients:
2 tbspBeef suet
2 1/2 lbsBeef, cubed
MSG (or gunk)
1 1/2 cupOnions, chopped
1 lbsMushrooms, sliced
3/4 cupSherry, dry
3 tbspCornstarch, rounded, in
1 cupWater, cold
2 cupSour cream (or use equal
-parts s/c and yogurt)
Procedures:
1Over high heat, brown suet (drippings) in pot.
2Grease bottom and sides, take out fat chunks.
3Brown cubed beef lightly.
4Salt and pepper, add gunk.
5Stir in onions, mushrooms and sherry.
6Turn down low and simmer about 10 minutes.
7Soften cornstarch in cold water; add to beef, stirring continuously.
8Add water if needed so meat chunks are covered when pushed down.
9Turn burner off to start cooling mixture.
10Add sour cream to top; spread lightly and let soften.
11Stir in; serve on top of hot noodles.
12Notes: * brian prefers it on top of rice.
13* can substitute 2 small cans of mushrooms for fresh
