Old fashioned chicken rice soup

Ingredients:
1 Roasting chicken
3 quartWater
Salt to taste
3 Peppercorns
1/4 Bay leaf
2 Sprigs parsley
1 Stalk celery, with leaves
4 medCarrots, cubed
1 medOnion, peeled
2 Cloves
1 cupBrown rice, raw
Procedures:
1Rinse chicken in cold water.
2Place in large pot with salt, peppercorns, water, bay leaf and parsley.
3Bring to a boil, and skim to remove any foam.
4Reduce heat; add carrots, cecele, onion and cloves presses into onion.
5Cover and simmer for 1 hour or until chicken is tender.
6Skim off any fat.
7Lift out chicken.
8Remove celery, onion, bayleaf.
9Add rice to broth and simmer til tender.
10Remove chicken from bone, cut into bite size pieces and return to broth.
11Heat 20 minutes.
