Savory chicken 'n mushrooms

Ingredients:
4 sliceBacon, chopped
3 lbsChicken, cut into serving
-pieces
1 packMushrooms, 10 oz, quartered
1 clGarlic clove, finely chopped
1 eachLipton Recipe Secrets Onion
Soup Mix, 1 envelope
1 1/4 cupWater
1/2 cupWine, red, or water
1/2 tspThyme, dried leaves, crushed
Procedures:
1In a 6-quart dutch oven or heavy saucepan, cook bacon over medium-high heat 3 minutes or until crisp.
2Remove bacon and set aside; reserve drippings.
3Add chicken to reserved drippings and brown over medium-high heat.
4Remove chicken; set aside.
5In same dutch oven, add mushrooms and garlic and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, 4 minutes.
6Return chicken and bacon to dutch oven, then add onion soup mix blended with water, wine and thyme.
7Bring to a boil over high heat.
8Reduce heat to low and simmer covered 40 minutes or until chicken is done.
9Serve with sliced italian or french bread and garnish, if desired, with fresh chopped parsley.
10Tip: serve with creamy mashed potatoes or hot cooked rice.
