Ingredients:

| slice | Bacon, chopped | | 3
| lbs | Chicken, cut into serving | | | -pieces | | 1
| pack | Mushrooms, 10 oz, quartered | | 1
| cl | Garlic clove, finely chopped | | 1
| each | Lipton Recipe Secrets Onion | | | Soup Mix, 1 envelope | | 1 1/4
| cup | Water | | 1/2
| cup | Wine, red, or water | | 1/2
| tsp | Thyme, dried leaves, crushed |

Procedures:
| 1 | In a 6-quart dutch oven or heavy saucepan, cook bacon over medium-high heat 3 minutes or until crisp. | | 2 | Remove bacon and set aside; reserve drippings. | | 3 | Add chicken to reserved drippings and brown over medium-high heat. | | 4 | Remove chicken; set aside. | | 5 | In same dutch oven, add mushrooms and garlic and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, 4 minutes. | | 6 | Return chicken and bacon to dutch oven, then add onion soup mix blended with water, wine and thyme. | | 7 | Bring to a boil over high heat. | | 8 | Reduce heat to low and simmer covered 40 minutes or until chicken is done. | | 9 | Serve with sliced italian or french bread and garnish, if desired, with fresh chopped parsley. | | 10 | Tip: serve with creamy mashed potatoes or hot cooked rice. |
