Orange braised pork with fruit

Ingredients:
3 1/2 lbsPork shoulder or butt
-- boned, trimmed
-- and cut into 2" cubes
2 tspDried marjoram
1/2 cupPort
1/2 cupOrange juice
1/2 cupWater
1/4 cupLemon juice
1 tbspGrated orange peel
1 tspGround ginger
2 Bay leaves
1 cupCalifornia dried figs
-- stems removed & halved
2 Golden Delicious apples
-- peeled, cored & sliced
1 Orange, peeled
-- sectioned and diced
4 cupHot cooked brown rice
-blended with:
3 tbspSesame seeds
-- (natural or toasted)
Procedures:
1Saute pork in large frying pan until browned on all sides.
2Sprinkle with marjoram, stirring to saute herb.
3Add port, orange juice, water, lemon juice, orange peel, ginger and bay leaves.
4Cover; simmer until pork is very tender -- about 2 hours.
5Remove meat to serving dish.
6Add figs, apples and orange pieces to pan.
7Cover; simmer about 10 minutes, just until apples are soft.
8Spoon fruit and juices over pork.
9Serve with rice
