Grunkohlsuppe (kale & potato soup)

Ingredients:
4 Potatoes, Medium
8 cupWater
1/2 tspPepper
1/2 lbsGarlic Sausage, *
2 tbspVegetable Oil
1 tspSalt
2 lbsKale, fresh
Procedures:
1* garlic sausage should be the smoked kind, cooked and sliced.
2+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++ peel and chop potatoes.
3Combine with vegetable oil and water.
4Cook for 20 to 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
5Remove potatoes and reserve liquid.
6Mash potatoes through a sieve and return to potato liquid.
7Add salt and pepper and simmer for 20 minutes.
8Wash kale discarding all tough leaves and cut into shreds.
9Add to potatoes and cook for 25 minutes.
10Add sausage.
11Simmer gently for 5 minutes.
