| | Jalapeno | | 1

| | 16 oz whole peeled tomatoes | | | Soaked overn -with juice | | 1

| oz | Dark red kidney beans undr | | | -ained! | | 1

| oz | Chopped mild green chiles | | 1

| tsp | Cayenne i used more! | | 1

| oz | Refried beans | | 1/4
| cup | Fresh cilantro | | | Salt and pepper to taste | | | Tortilla chips |

Procedures:
| 1 | Preparation time: 0:30 Heat oil in heavy soup pot, add onions and cook until tender. | | 2 | Add garlic and cook 1 minute more. | | 3 | Add bay leaf, oregano, stock and drained navy beans. | | 4 | Bring to strong simmer and cook until beans are tender and beginning to split approx. 1 hour. | | 5 | Meanwhile, remove and discard seeds from jalapeno and banana peppers. | | 6 | Mince peppers. | | 7 | Coarsely chop tomatoes, reserving juice. | | 8 | When beans are cooked, add to them the peppers, tomatoes with juice, kidney beans with juice, green chiles, cumin and cayenne pepper. | | 9 | Stir in refried beans until no lumps remain. | | 10 | Simmer 15-20 minutes. | | 11 | Add cilantro and season to taste withsalt and pepper. | | 12 | Garnish with tortilla chips and serve. |
