Ingredients:
1 lbsBEEF ROUND, CUT IN 1" CUBES
1 tbspMARGARINE
1/2 cupCHOPPED ONION
2 quartWATER
13 1/2 ozCAN BEEF BROTH
1/2 cupUNCOOKED BARLEY
1/2 cupCHOPPED CELERY
14 1/2 ozCAN STEWED TOMATOES
10 ozPK. FROZEN PEAS & CARROTS
3 eachMED. POTATOES, PEELED, CUBED
1/4 cupA.1. STEAK SAUCE
Procedures:
1In a large heavy pan, over medium high heat, brown beef in margarine.
2Add onion, cook until tender.
3Stir in water, broth, barley and celery.
4Heat to a boil, cover and simmer on low heat for 1 hour.
5Add tomatoes, peas and carrots, potatoes and staek sauce, stirring to break up tomatoes.
6Simmer covered for 30 minutes more or until potatoes are tender.
