Ingredients:

| lbs | Ground beef, finely chop | | 2
| tbsp | Shortening | | 2
| tbsp | Butter | | 1
| tsp | Garlic powder | | 1/4
| tsp | Pepper | | 2
| tbsp | Chili powder | | 2
| tbsp | Dry mustard | | 2
| tbsp | Instant minced onions | | | -or 2 med onions, chop fine | | 3
| oz | Can tomato puree, opt | | 3/4
| cup | Water | | | Prepared mustard | | | Chopped onions for garnish |

Procedures:
| 1 | In a saucepan, cook the ground beef with shortening and butter, breaking it up with a fork, until it is no longer pink. | | 2 | Add the garlic powder, pepper, chili powder, mustard, onions, tomato puree and water. | | 3 | Simmer uncovered over low heat. | | 4 | Serve over hot dogs. | | 5 | Add prepared mustard and chopped onions to taste. | | 6 | * note: ask your butcher to use the finest blade when grinding. | | 7 | Or you can process the meat in a food processor |
