Fried pasta with sausage

Ingredients:
1/2 lbsVermicelli
12 ozHot Italian sausage
Removed from casing
2 medOnions, sliced
2 Garlic cloves, minced
2 Red or green bell peppers
Seeded, cut in 1" cubes
1/4 cupChopped fresh basil, OR
1/4 cupChopped fresh parsley
1 tbspDried basil
1/4 tspBlack pepper
4 Plum tomatoes, chopped
1 1/3 cupMarinara Sauce
2 tbspOlive oil
MARINARA SAUCE
1 tbspVegetable oil
1/2 cupChopped onion
16 ozCanned tomatoes, chopped
2 tbspDry red wine
1 tbspTomato paste
1/4 tspSalt
1/8 tspDried basil
1/8 tspPepper
Dash of dried oregano
Procedures:
1Preparation: cook vermicelli according to package directions.
2Drain.
3In 10" skillet, over medium-high heat, cook sausage 5 minutes stirring frequently to break up.
4Add onions and cook until onions are softened.
5Stir in garlic, bell peppers, basil and pepper.
6Cook until sausage is no longer pink and vegetables are tender.
7Stir in tomatoes and marinara sauce.
8Remove from heat.
9Wipe out skillet.
10In same skillet, over high heat, heat oil.
11Add vermicelli, cook two minutes.
12Reduce heat to medium and cook until edges are browned and crisp, about 5 minutes.
13With pancake turner, loosen from skillet.
14Invert vermicelli onto serving plate.
15Spoon sausage mixture over vermicelli.
16Marinara sauce preparation: in 1 qt. saucepan heat oil over medium heat.
17Add onion and cook, stirring often, until soft.
18Stir in remaining ingredients.
19Simmer, stirring occasionally, 25 minutes until thick.
