Rum-raisin popcorn

Ingredients:
-Sue Woodward
1 cupLight brown sugar, firmly
-packed
1/2 cupLight corn syrup
3 tbspButter
2 tspRum extract
12 cupPopped corn
2 cupRaisins
Procedures:
1In a heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter.
2Place over med-high heat.
3Cook, stirring often until sugar dissolves.
4Continue to boil gently, without stirring, until a candy thermometer reaches 280°F (syrup separates into hard, but not brittle, threads when dropped into very cold water).
5Remove from heat and stir in rum extract.
6Pour over popcorn and raisins.
7Spread out evenly on a lightly buttered cookie sheet.
8Cool and break into small pieces.
