Apple pie caramel almond

Ingredients:
CRUST
1 cupFlour
1 tbspSugar
1/2 tspSalt
1/2 cupVegetable oil
1 tbspMilk
FILLING
5 medTart apples, peeled, cored
- and sliced
4 tbspWhite -OR- brown sugar
1 tbspCornstarch
1 tbspLemon juice
CARAMEL ALMOND TOPPING
1/4 cupButter or margarine, soft
1/2 cupSugar
2 tbspFlour
2 tbspMilk
1 tspCinnamon
3 ozAlmonds, sliced
Sour cream
Procedures:
1In small bowl, stir together flour, sugar and salt.
2With fork, beat together salad oil and milk.
3Stir oil mix itno flour mix to make a soft dough.
4Press dough into 9" pie plate or 10" shallow au-gratin dish.
5Press edges to make sides about 1" high in gratin dish; make sides come to top of pie plate.
6Bake at 425°F for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
7While crust bakes, prepare apples.
8Mix with sugar, cornstarch and lemon juice.
9Turn into baked pie shell.
10Melt butter in skillet.
11Add sugar, flour, cinnamon and almonds.
12Boil 1 minute, stirring.
13Pour over apples in pan to coat evenly.
14Bake at 425°F for 25-30 minutes or until caramel topping is golden and bubbly.
15Cool before serving.
16Excellant served with sour cream, or may serve with lightly sweetned whipped cream
