| | Apples, cored | | | Cherry or strawberry jam | | 1/2
| cup | Sugar | | 1/2
| tsp | Mace or nutmeg | | 1
| cup | Red wine | | 1/2
| tsp | Vanilla |

Procedures:
| 1 | Place apples in a buttered casserole or baking dish. | | 2 | Fill each with jam. | | 3 | Blend sugar and mace and stir in wine and vanilla. | | 4 | Pour over apples and cover. | | 5 | Bake at 350 °F for 1 hour. | | 6 | Refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours before serving. |
