| | Eggs | | 2/3
| cup | Buttermilk or sour milk* | | 1/2
| cup | Sugar | | 1/3
| cup | Orange peel -- ground** | | 1/2
| cup | Raisins -- chopped | | 1/2
| tsp | Baking soda | | 1/3
| cup | Orange juice | | 1/4
| cup | Sugar |

Procedures:
| 1 | * to make sour milk, place 2 teaspoons vinegar in measuring cup and fill to 2/3 cup mark with milk. | | 2 | **or finely chopped. | | 3 | Break eggs into a bowl; beat well. | | 4 | Stir in buttermilk, ?cup sugar, orange peel and raisins. | | 5 | Add mix and soda. | | 6 | Beat well. | | 7 | Pour into an 8 by 8 by 2-inch pan, bottom rubbed with shortening. | | 8 | Bake in a 350°F. oven about 30 minutes. | | 9 | Combine orange juice and ?cup sugar, stirring to dissolve sugar. | | 10 | Pour over hot cake. | | 11 | Cool. | | 12 | Yield: one 8-inch square cake | | 13 | recipe by : |
