Ingredients:

| tbsp | Chopped onions | | 1
| cup | Oil | | 2
| cup | Water | | 1
| cup | Brown rice | | 1
| tsp | Salt | | 2
| tsp | Kelp | | 2
| tsp | Dill weed | | 1/4
| tsp | Cinnamon | | 1/2
| tsp | Peppermint | | 1
| tsp | Paprika | | 1/2
| tsp | Pepper | | 1/2
| tsp | Allspice | | | Juice of 1 lemon | | 12
| each | Grape leaves |

Procedures:
| 1 | Saute onions in oil till light brown. | | 2 | Add 1 c water with the rice, salt & kelp. | | 3 | Mix well. | | 4 | Cover & cook till the water is absorbed. | | 5 | Remove from heat, cool slightly & add remaining spices. | | 6 | Place 1 generous ts of filling onto each grape leaf. | | 7 | Make one fold up from the base of the leaf, tuck in the sides & roll up tightly. | | 8 | Place in a heavy saucepan & fold down, packing the rolls tightly. | | 9 | Add remaining cup of water & lemon juice. | | 10 | Cook slowly over low heat till almost all the liquid has been absorbed. | | 11 | Serve hot or cold. | | 12 | "vegetarian times cookbook |
