Bacon & cheese sourdough muffins

Ingredients:
4 sliceBacon
1 1/2 cupAll-purpose flour
2 tspBaking powder
1/4 tspBaking soda
1/2 tspSalt
1/4 cupSugar
1/2 cupShredded cheddar cheese 2-oz
1 Egg
1/2 cupSourdough starter
2/3 cupMilk
1/3 cupVegetable oil or bacon
- drippings
Procedures:
1In a skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp.
2Reserve bacon drippings, if desired.
3Drain cooked bacon on paper towels.
4Crumble and set aside.
5Grease 12 muffin cups or line with paper liners; set aside.
6Preheat oven to 400°F.
7In a large bowl, sitr together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar.
8Stir in cheese; set aside.
9In a medium bowl, beat egg.
10Stir in sourdough starter, milk and oil or drippings.
11Add to flour mixture.
12Stir with fork until dry ingredients are just moistened.
13Fold in crumbled bacon.
14Fill prepared muffin cups 2/3 to ?full with batter.
15Bake in preheated oven 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
16Remove from muffin cups.
17Serve hot.
18great for breakfast with a glass of orange juice! these turned out absolutely wonderful.
19I would suggest greasing the muffin tins very well.
20The cheese tends to make them stick a little!
