Canadian corn chowder

Ingredients:
2 tspMargarine
2 ozDiced Canadian -style bacon
1/2 cupDiced onion
2 tbspEach diced celery and
-shredded carrot
1 1/2 tspAll-purpose flour
1/2 cupSkim milk
3 ozPared potatoes, diced
1/2 tspSalt
Dash each marjoram
-leaves and pepper
1/2 cupFrozen or drained canned
-whole kernel corn
Water if required
Procedures:
1In 2-quart saucepan heat margarine until bubbly and hot; add bacon, onion, celery and carrot; saute until onion is translucent.
2Sprinkle with flour and stir quickly to combine; cook, stirring, for 1 minute.
3Stirring constantly, gradually add milk and bring to a boil.
4Reduce heat and add potato and seasonings; cover and let simmer until potato is tender, about 15 minutes.
5Stir in corn and let simmer until heated through.
6If mixture gets too thick, add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency.
