Ingredients:
1 Crust for 9" pie (single)
FILLING
4 cupTart apples, shredded
2 tbspLemon juice
1 cupWalnuts, chopped
3/4 cupBrown sugar
Ds Nutmeg
1/2 cupHoney
TOPPING
4 tbspButter, soft
3 tbspFlour
3 tbspWalnuts, chopped
3 tbspBrown sugar
Procedures:
1Prepare crust or use a ready made one.
2Prebake at 375°F for about 8 minutes.
3Prepare filling.
4Shred apples (they don"t need to be peeled if skin is soft).
5Mix with lemon juice quickly.
6Blend together walnuts, brown sugar and nutmeg.
7Place apples in the prepared shell.
8Top with walnut mix.
9Pour honey evenly over all.
10Bake at 375°F for about 35 minutes.
11In the meantime, prepare topping.
12With fork, blend together butter, flour, walnuts and sugar until crumbly.
13Top pie with crumbled mix.
14Bake another 10-15 minutes or until apples are soft and topping is light brown.
15Serve with whipped cream or ice cream
