Pink lavender lemonade

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cup-Distilled water
1 1/2 cupSugar
6 largeStrawberries, hulled -OR-
1/4 cupPink hisbicus flowers, dried
-pesticide free
1/4 cupLavender leaves, chopped -OR
1 tbsp-dried Lavender flowers
2 1/2 cup-Distilled water
2 1/4 cupLemon juice
1/2 cupSugar, optional
Fresh lavender flowers
-for garnish
Procedures:
1The original recipe calls for hibiscus flowers and suggested strawberries as a substitute.
2I have reversed the order.
3As well, i don"t think it is necessary to use distilled water in most locations.
4In medium saucepan, combine 2 ?cups water, sugar and hibiscus flowers (or hulled strawberries).
5Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar.
6Reduce heat.
7Simmer 5 minutes to extract pink to extract pink from flowers.
8Remove from heat.
9Stir in lavender leaves.
10Cover and cool.
11Strain cooled herb liquid into large pitcher or jar (if using strawberries, gently press juice from berries).
12Add remaining 2 ?cups water and lemon juice.
13Stir well.
14Add ?cup more sugar, if desired.
15Just before serving, add ice cubes.
16Pour into chilled glasses.garnish with lavender flowers.
17Yield: 6-8 serving
