Ingredients:

| cup | Flour, all-purpose | | 1/3
| cup | Yellow cornmeal | | 1
| tbsp | Dill, finely chopped | | 2 1/2
| tsp | Baking powder | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 3
| tbsp | Vegetable shortening, chilld | | 1
| cup | Milk |

Procedures:
| 1 | In a medium bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients. | | 2 | With 2 knives or your fingers, cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. | | 3 | Add the milk, stirring with a fork, just until the mixture holds together. | | 4 | With a large spoon, drop dumpling batter in 8 spoonfuls over the stew. | | 5 | Simmer over medium-low heat, covered, about 16 minutes, or until the dumplings are done. |
