Ingredients:
1 pack(14 oz) caramels
2/3 cupCanned evaporated milk
-divided
1 German chocolate cake mix
-or light chocolate cake mix
3/4 cupMargarine
1 cupChopped nuts
1 cupChocolate chips
Procedures:
1Mix and melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk, stirring often.
2Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
3Separately.
4Combine cake mix with margarine, 1/3 cup evaporated milk (or more if needed) and nuts.
5Place half the mixture into a greased 13 x 9 inch pan.
6Bake 6 minutes, sprinkle baked mixture wit chocolate chips, then spread with caramel mixture.
7Spread remaining mixture on top.
8Bake 15 to 18 minutes.
9Let cool then cut into squares.
