Mock tomato sauce

Ingredients:
7 cupPeeled, chopped yams or
Squash
1 cupChopped fresh beets
1 cupChopped onion
2 Cloves garlic, minced
6 cupWater or stock
2 tbspSoy sauce
1 Strip wakame or kombu
3 tspParsley
1 tspBasil
1/2 tspOregano
1/4 tspEach kelp, marjoram, and
Thyme
1/8 tspRosemary (crushed)
1 Bay leaf
2 tspLiquid swetener
2 tspApple cider vinegar
Procedures:
1Steam the yams and beets until tender.
2Saute the onion and garlic in water until transparent.
3Blend all ingredients except the bay leaf until smooth; heat in a saucepan with the bay leaf for about 20 minutes to meld flavors.
4Remove the bay leaf.
5Serve hot on pasta, pizza, vegetables, etc.
