| tsp | Baking soda | | | FROSTING | | 1
| cup | Milk | | 5
| tbsp | Flour | | 1
| cup | Butter | | 1
| cup | Sugar | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla |

Procedures:
| 1 | Cake: cream together butter, sugar and eggs. | | 2 | Make a paste of cocoa and food coloring. | | 3 | Add the paste to the creamed mixture. | | 4 | Mix salt and vanilla in buttermilk and add alternately with the flour. | | 5 | Mix soda and vinegar separately, add last, folding in. do not beat after adding soda mixture. | | 6 | Bake at 350 °F for 30 minutes. | | 7 | icing: boil together milk and flour until thickened. | | 8 | Let stand until cool. | | 9 | Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla. | | 10 | Add milk and flour mix and beat very well. | | 11 | (the longer you beat it the better it gets). |
