Ingredients:
CAKE
1/2 cupButter
1 1/2 cupSugar
2 Eggs
2 tbspCocoa
2 ozRed food coloring
1 tspVanilla
1 tspSalt
1 cupButtermilk
2 cupFlour
1 tbspVinegar
1 tspBaking soda
FROSTING
1 cupMilk
5 tbspFlour
1 cupButter
1 cupSugar
1 tspVanilla
Procedures:
1Cake: cream together butter, sugar and eggs.
2Make a paste of cocoa and food coloring.
3Add the paste to the creamed mixture.
4Mix salt and vanilla in buttermilk and add alternately with the flour.
5Mix soda and vinegar separately, add last, folding in. do not beat after adding soda mixture.
6Bake at 350 °F for 30 minutes.
7icing: boil together milk and flour until thickened.
8Let stand until cool.
9Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla.
10Add milk and flour mix and beat very well.
11(the longer you beat it the better it gets).
