Ultimate chocolate chip cookies and variations

Ingredients:
3/4 cupButter Flavor Crisco
1 1/4 cupBrown sugar, firmly packed
2 tbspMilk
1 tbspVanilla
1 Egg
1 3/4 cupFlour, all purpose
1 tspSalt
3/4 tspBaking soda
1 cupChocolate chips, semi-sweet
1 cupPecan pieces, large *
Procedures:
1Preparation time: 20 minutes bake time: 8 to 13 minutes
2* note: if nuts are omitted, use 1 ?cups semi-sweet chocolate chips.
3Heat oven to 375°F.
4Cream butter flavor crisco, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl.
5Blend until creamy.
6Blend in egg.
7Combine flour, salt and baking soda.
8Add to creamed mixture, gradually.
9Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
10Drop rounded tablespoonfuls ( about 2 measuring tablespoons ) of dough 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
11Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies ( they will look light and moist - do not overbake ), 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies.
12Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes.
13Remove to cooling rack.
14makes 3 dozen 3 inch cookies.
15variations for ultimate chocolate chip cookies Drizzle melt 1 cup semi-sweet or white melting chocolate with 1 teaspoon butter flavor crisco over very low heat or at 50% power in microwave.
16Stir well.
17If too thick to drizzle, add a little more butter flavor crisco to thin.
18Drizzle from end of spoon back and forth over cookie.
19Sprinkle with nuts before chocolate hardens, if desired.
20to harden chocolate quickly, place cookies in refrigerator for a few minutes.
21Chocolate dipped melt 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or 1 cup white melting chocolate cut in pieces with 1 teaspoon butter flavor crisco over very low heat or at 50% power in microwave.
22Stir well.
23Spoon into a cup.
24Dip one end of cooled cookie in chocolate.
25Sprinkle with finely chopped nuts before chocolate hardens.
26Place on wax paper.
27Holiday dress-ups frost cookies with creamy vanilla frosting.
28Decorate with red and green candy coated chocolate pieces ( m&ms ).
29creamy vanilla frosting combine ?cup butter flavor crisco, 1 pound ( 4 cups ) confectioners sugar, 1/3 cup milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla in medium bowl at low speed of electric mixer until well blended.
30Scrape bowl.
31Beat at high speed for 2 minutes, or until smooth and creamy.
