Kushli (coconut and cream of wheat dessert)

Ingredients:
1 cupFlour (all purpose)
1 pinchSalt
1 pinchBaking soda
6 tbspButter/oleo
1/2 cupWater
1/2 cupCoconut, fresh and shredded
2 tbspAlmonds, blanched
1 cupCream of wheat
1 cupSugar
10 ea Cordamom pods
2 tbspRaisins
Vegetable oil for deep fryng
Procedures:
1Sift flour, salt and baking soda together.
2Rub in 2 tb butter/oleo.
3Prepare a stiff dough with some water, about ?cup.
4Set aside.
5to prepare the pastry filling, heat remaining butter/oleo in a skillet.
6Add coconut, almonds and cream of wheat.
7Cook until mixture is golden.
8remove seeds from the 10 cardamom pods.
9add sugar, cardamom seeds and raisins.
10Cook until sugar is completely dissolved, about 5 to 7 mins.
11divide dough into 12 equal portions.
12Roll each portion into a 4-in round.
13Place some filling on half of the round, leaving ?inch border around the edge.
14Fold the other half over the mixture and seal edges completely.
15heat vegetables oil for deep frying.
16Fry the pasteries until golden.
