Lasure's cheesy mashed potatoes

Ingredients:
8 medPotatoes (2 ?lbs)
8 ozCream cheese, softened
8 ozDairy sour cream
1/2 cupButter or margarine
1/4 tspGarlic powder
1/4 tspPepper
4 ozShredded cheddar cheese
-(1 cup)
Procedures:
1Peel and quarter potatoes.
2In a large saucepan, cook potatoes in enough water to cover for 20 to 25 minutes or till tender.
3Drain off liquid.
4in a large mixing bowl, combine the potatoes, cream cheese, sour cream, butter or margarine, garlic powder and pepper.
5Beat the mixture with an electric mixer till fluffy.
6Turn mixture into a buttered 2-quart casserole or baking dish.
7Top with cheddar cheese.
8cover and bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.
9Uncover and bake for 15 minutes more.
10Makes 8 servings
