Ingredients:

| cup | Shortening | | 2
| cup | Sugar | | 1/4
| cup | Lemon juice | | 1/2
| cup | Water | | 1
| tsp | Baking soda | | 1
| tsp | Cream of tartar | | 3
| cup | Flour |

Procedures:
| 1 | Beat shortening for 30 seconds. | | 2 | Add sugar & continue to beat till light & fluffy. | | 3 | Combine lemon juice & water. | | 4 | Combine the dry ingredients. | | 5 | Alternately mix the dry & wet ingredients with the beaten mixture. | | 6 | Mix well. | | 7 | Drop by spoonful onto a greased cookie sheet. | | 8 | bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 450f. | | 9 | makes about 60 to 70. |
