Roadhouse roast beef and mashed potatoes

Ingredients:
GARLIC MASHED POTATOES
1 1/3 lbs(4 medium) potatoes
1 cupLowfat milk
2 tbspButter or margarine
3 Garlic cloves, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste
ROAST BEEF AND GRAVY
1 can(10 ?ounces) beef gravy
1 tspDried thyme
1/8 tspPepper
12 ozSliced deli roast beef
Procedures:
1Pierce potatoes with tines of fork; microwave on high 13 minutes until potatoes are fork-tender.
2Halve lengthwise; scoop pulp into medium microwave-safe bowl.
3Mash potatoes with potato masher or beat with electric hand mixer; reserve.
4Place milk, butter and garlic in small microwave-safe bowl.
5Microwave on high 2 minutes; thoroughly mix into potato pulp.
6Mix in additional milk, if necessary, to reach desired consistency.
7Season with salt and pepper.
8Microwave on high 1 to 2 minutes until hot.
9Meanwhile, in 2-quart saucepan combine gravy, thyme and pepper; bring to simmer over medium heat.
10Add beef slices; heat through.
11Serve beef and gravy with mashed potatoes.
12note: microwave cooking times are based on a 700-watt microwave.
13Adjust cooking times to your own oven.
