Ingredients:

| cup | Shortening | | 1
| cup | Brown sugar | | 1/2
| cup | Milk | | 2
| cup | Oatmeal | | 1 1/2
| cup | Flour | | 3
| tsp | Baking powder | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt |

Procedures:
| 1 | Cream shortening and sugar add milk and then oatmeal. | | 2 | Add dry ingredients and mix well. | | 3 | Dough should be soft. | | 4 | Chill. | | 5 | Roll out and cut with cookie cutter. | | 6 | Bake in 375 oven till browned about 12 min. when cool put to-gether with date filling. | | 7 | Filling: ?lb dates, 2/3 water, ?cup of brown sugar, 1 tsp. lemon juice. | | 8 | Cook until thick and cool before using. |
