Ingredients:
| 1/2
| cup | Butter | | 1
| cup | Granulated sugar | | 1
| | Egg | | 1
| tbsp | Cream | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla | | 2
| cup | Flour | | 1/2
| tsp | Baking powder |

Procedures:
| 1 | Serve these not-too-sweet cookies in the traditional english fashion with your favorite cup of tea. | | 2 | They are delicious with a dab of jam or marmalade and hold up well when dunking. | | 3 | In a bowl, cream butter with sugar until very light. | | 4 | Add well beaten egg, cream and vanilla. | | 5 | In a separate bowl, sift flour with baking powder; add creamed mixture and blend well. | | 6 | Roll dough into a log and wrap in aluminum foil. | | 7 | Chill overnight, or in freezer for 2 hours if rushed for time. | | 8 | Preheat oven to 350? | | 9 | Remove dough from refrigerator, slice very thin and place on greased cookie sheet. | | 10 | Bake 5-8 minutes at 350? | | 11 | Variations: for various holidays decorate with colored sugar, beads or icing. | | 12 | Or substitute almond or lemon extract for the vanilla to vary the flavor. | | 13 | Yield: 10 dozen. | | 14 | Suzanne j. | | 15 | Brown, owner sbj communications, skillman, nj randy shearer |
