Espresso nut cookies

Ingredients:
2 cupFlour
1 tspBaking powder
1/8 tspSalt
1/2 cupButter or margarine, softened
1/2 cupGranulated sugar
1/2 cupPacked brown sugar
1 Egg
1/2 cupFinely chopped pecans or
-walnuts
1 tbspInstant espresso or instant
Coffee, dissolved in
1 tbspHot water, cooled
Procedures:
1In medium bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
2In large bowl cream butter well; gradually beat in sugars until light and fluffy.
3Beat in egg and espresso until well mixed.
4Stir in flour mixture until well blended; stir in nuts.
5Shape dough in two 2-inch diameter rolls.
6Wrap tight; chill 4 hours or until firm.
7With sharp, thin knife, using sawing motion, slice ?inch thick.
8Place slices 1 inch apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
9Bake in preheated 375 degree oven 9 to 11 minutes or until slightly firm.
10Remove to racks to cool.
11Add optional decorations.
12Holiday decorations use tube icing with star tip to make santa face and hat pompon, leaf tip to make hat.
13Give eyes sparkle with silver degrees
