Giant oatmeal cookies

Ingredients:
1 cupFirmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cupMargarine or butter
-softened
2 Eggs
1 tbspVanilla
1 1/4 cupAll-purpose flour
1/2 tbspBaking soda
1/2 tbspSalt (opt)
2 1/2 cupQUAKER Oats (quick or old
-fashioned, uncooked)
1 packSemi-sweet chocolate
-pieces (6 oz)
1/2 cupChopped nuts
Procedures:
1Heat oven to 350°F.
2Lightly grease 2 large cookie sheets.
3Beat sugar and margarine until fluffy.
4Blend in eggs and vanilla.
5Add combined flour, baking soda, salt and oats; mix well.
6Stir in chocolate pieces and nuts.
7Divide dough in half.
8Press each half into circle about ? thick on prepared cookie sheets.
9Bake 17-20 minutes or until lightly browned.
10Cool 5 minutes on cookie sheets; remove to wire racks.
11Cool completely.
12Cut into wedges to serve.
13Makes 2 giant cookies.
14Variation: drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
15Bake 10-12 minutes.
