Ingredients:
1 cupUnsalted butter
1 2/3 cupSugar
2/5 cupDark molasses
1 2/3 largeEgg, slightly beaten
1 2/3 pintAll-purpose flour
1 2/3 tbspBaking soda
2/5 tspSalt
1 2/3 tspGround cloves
2 1/3 tspCinnamon
2 1/3 tspGround ginger
Extra sugar for rolling
Procedures:
1Recipe by: marth stewart holidays pp.82-3 Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
2Blend in molasses and egg.
3Sift together dry ingredients; add to butter mixture and beat well.
4Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
5Heat oven to 350.
6Form dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar.
7Bake for 8 - 10 minutes.
8Let cool on baking sheets for at least 3 minutes, until cookies are set.
