Ingredients:
3/4 cupButter, softened
1 cupSugar, brown
1 1/2 cupMolasses, dark
3/4 cupWater, cold
6 cupFlour, sifted
2 tspBaking soda
1 tspSalt
1 tspAllspice, ground
1 tspGinger, ground
1 tspCloves, ground
1 tspCinnamon, ground
Procedures:
1Fat grams per serving: approx. cook time: 0:25
2mix the butter, brown sugar, and molasses thoroughly.
3Stir in the cold water.
4Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, and spices.
5Stir into the butter mixture.
6Chill the dough.
7Roll out very thick (?inch).
8Cut with a 2 ?inch round cutter.
9Place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
10Bake in a moderate (350°F) oven until, when lightly touched with finger, no imprint remains (about 15 minutes).
