| 1 | Heat oven to 350°F. |
| 2 | Grease 9-inch square baking pan. |
| 3 | In medium saucepan, melt butter. |
| 4 | Remove from heat; stir in sugar and vanilla. |
| 5 | Add eggs; beat well with spoon. |
| 6 | Add remaining ingredients, stirring until mixture is well blended. |
| 7 | Spoon batter into prepared pan. |
| 8 | Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until brownie springs back when lightly touched in center. |
| 9 | Do not overbake cool completely in pan on wire rack. |
| 10 | Frost with brownie frosting, if desired. |
| 11 | Cut into squares. |
| 12 | 16 brownies. |
| 13 | brownie frosting (optional): in small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened, 3 tablespoons hershey"s cocoa and ?teaspoon vanilla extract. |
| 14 | Add 1 cup powdered sugar and 1 to 2 tablespoons milk; beat to spreading consistency. |
| 15 | About 1 cup frosting. |
