| 1 | Nothing, absolutely nothing, was as delectable as these cookies that my grandmother taunted us with. |
| 2 | Preheat oven to 350? |
| 3 | In a large bowl, combine brown sugar and butter; mix well. |
| 4 | Beat egg and add to creamed mixture; mix well. |
| 5 | Add cocoa and mix. |
| 6 | In a separate bowl, measure flour and baking soda. |
| 7 | Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to egg and cocoa mixture. |
| 8 | Stir in vanilla and chopped nuts. |
| 9 | Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet and bake at 350?for 10-12 minutes. |
| 10 | Remove to wire racks and let cool. |
| 11 | While cookies are baking, make icing by combining all ingredients. |
| 12 | Thin with a little milk if icing is too thick. |
| 13 | When cookies have cooled, frost with chocolate icing. |
| 14 | Yield: 3 dozen. |
