| cup | SHORTENING | | 1
| cup | SOUR MILK | | 3
| tsp | BAKING SODA |

Procedures:
| 1 | Dissolve 1 teaspoon soda in the sour milk. | | 2 | Dissolve the remaining soda in 3 tablespoons boiling water. | | 3 | Add ginger, cinnamon, salt and cloves to the water. | | 4 | Add sour milk. | | 5 | Add enough flour to make soft dough. | | 6 | Roll and cut into oblongs. | | 7 | Bake till firm. | | 8 | When cool frost with powdered sugar icing |
