Hershey's classic chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients:
2 1/4 cupAll-purpose flour
1 tspBaking soda
1/2 tspSalt
1 cupButter, softened
3/4 cupGranulated sugar
3/4 cupPacked light brown sugar
1 tspVanilla extract
2 Eggs
12 ozSemi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- (Hershey's)
1 cupChopped nuts (optional)
Procedures:
1Heat oven to 375 °Fahrenheit.
2Stir together flour, baking soda and salt.
3In large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla with electric mixer until creamy.
4Add eggs; beat well.
5Gradually add flour mixture, beating well.
6Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired.
7Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.
8Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
9Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
10Cool completely.
11About 5 dozen cookies.
12classic chocolate chocolate chip cookies: add 1/3 cup hershey"s cocoa to flour mixture.
13pan recipe: spread batter in greased 15-˝x10-˝x1-inch jelly-roll pan.
14Bake at 375 °Fahrenheit 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
15Cool completely; cut into bars.
16About 4 dozen bars.
17skor & chocolate chip cookies: use 1 cup finely chopped skor bars and 1 cup hershey"s semi-sweet chocolate chips in place of 2 cups chocolate chips; omit nuts.
18Drop and bake as directed.
19ice cream sandwich: press one small scoop of vanilla ice cream between two cookies.

21increase flour to 2-2/3 cups.
22Decrease baking soda to ?teaspoon.
23Decrease granulated sugar to 2/3 cup.
24Decrease packed light brown sugar to 2/3 cup.
25Add ?teaspoon water with flour.
26Bake at 375 °Fahrenheit, 5 to 7 minutes or until top is light golden with golden brown edges.
