Ingredients:

| cup | Shortening (can) | | 1
| cup | Brown Sugar | | 2
| | Eggs | | 2
| cup | All-Purpose Flour | | 1
| tsp | Cream of Tartar | | 4
| cup | Rice Krispies | | | Chocolate chips (if desired) | | 1/2
| cup | Butter | | 1
| cup | White Sugar | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla | | 1
| tsp | Baking Soda | | 1
| tsp | Salt | | | Nuts (if desired) |

Procedures:
| 1 | Cream shortening, margarine with sugars. | | 2 | Add eggs and vanilla. | | 3 | Sift dry ingredients together, add to the above, then add cereal and blend in gently. | | 4 | Drop on un-greased cookie sheet, by teaspoon. | | 5 | Bake at 350 °F for 12 to 15 minutes |
