Lemon butter wafers

Ingredients:
3/4 cupUnsalted butter, 1 ?stick
1 cupSugar
2 largeEggs
1 1/4 cupSifted flour
2 tbspLemon zest, very finely
-minced
1/3 cupGround amonds
Procedures:
1Recipe by: diane mott davidson, the last suppers mystery in the large bowl of an electric mixer, beat the butter until smooth and add the sugar, beating until creamy.
2Beat in the eggs, scraping down the sides of the bowl.
3Add the flour, beating just until combined.
4Add the lemon zest and almonds, stirring until well incorporated.
5Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator until well chilled, at least 3 hours.
6Preheat the oven to 350b0.
7Butter a nonstick cookie sheet.
8Using a ?tablespoon measure, spoon out level ?tablespoon of chilled cookie dough onto the cookie sheet, placing them 3" apart.
9Bake for about 10 minutes or until the cookies have just flattened and are lightly browned around the edges.
10Cool the cookies on racks.
11Store in a covered tin.
