Ingredients:
3/4 cupButter or margarine
Egg yolk
1 Browned Butter Frosting
1/2 cupPacked brown sugar
2 cupAll-purpose flour
1/4 cupChopped pecans (optional)
Procedures:
1In a large mixer bowl, beat butter till softened.
2Add brown sugar and beat till fluffy.
3Add egg yolk and vanilla and beat well.
4Add flour and beat till well mixed.
5If necessary, cover and chill 30 minutes or till easy to shape.
6shape into 1 inch balls.
7Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
8Flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
9Bake in a 350 degree oven for 7 to 9 minutes or till done.
10Remove and cool.
11Frost with browned butter frosting and if desired, sprinkle with pecans, gently pressing nuts into frosting.
12browned butter frosting: in a saucepan heat ?cup butter over low heat till lightly browned.
13Remove from heat.
14Stir in 2 ?cups sifted powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla and enought milk (2 to 3 tablespoons) to make frosting spreadable.
