Ingredients:
| 3/4
| cup | Shortening | | 1
| cup | Brown sugar | | 1/4
| cup | Molasses | | 1/4
| cup | Water | | 2
| tsp | Baking soda | | 1
| tsp | Cinnamon | | 1
| tsp | Ginger | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 2 1/2
| cup | Flour |

Procedures:
| 1 | Beat shortening for 30 seconds. | | 2 | Add sugar & beat till light & fluffy. | | 3 | Add molasses & water. | | 4 | Mix well. | | 5 | Add the baking soda, cinnamon, ginger & salt. | | 6 | Mix. | | 7 | Finally fold in flour. | | 8 | Mix well. | | 9 | Form into 1 inch balls. | | 10 | Place on a greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. | | 11 | Flatten slightly & bake at 375f for 8 to 10 minutes. | | 12 | Cool on a wire rack. | | 13 | Makes 36 |
