| cup | Firmly packed brown sugar | | 1

| tsp | Vanilla | | 1
| cup | All-purpose flour | | 1 1/4
| tsp | Cinnamon | | 1/4
| tsp | Nutmeg | | 1/4
| tsp | Baking soda | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 1
| cup | Chopped dates | | 3/4
| cup | Chopped walnuts | | 3
| cup | Quick cooking oats (not | | | -instant or old fashioned) |

Procedures:
| 1 | Heat oven to 375°F. | | 2 | Grease baking sheet with butter flavor crisco. | | 3 | Set aside. | | 4 | Cream butter flavor crisco, sugar, egg, milk and vanilla in a large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. | | 5 | Combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda and salt. | | 6 | Mix into creamed mixture. | | 7 | Stir in fruit and nuts. | | 8 | Stir in oats. | | 9 | Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto baking sheet. | | 10 | Bake at 375°F for 13 minutes. | | 11 | Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. | | 12 | Remove to cooling rack. |
