Peanut butter twists

Ingredients:
1 cupAll-purpose flour
2 tbspSugar
1/2 tspSalt
1/3 cupVegetable shortening
3 ozCream cheese
2 tspMilk
1/4 cupPeanut butter
3 tbspApple butter
Procedures:
1Recipe by: jo anne merrill preparation time: 0:20 In a small mixing bowl, sift the flour with sugar and salt.
2Add shortening, cream cheese and milk.
3Mix on lowest speed of an electric mixer until dough begins to form well.
4Shape into a ball.
5Roll out on floured surface to a 20 x 8 inch rectangle.
6Cut in half to make two 10 x 8-inch rectangles.
7Spread one half with peanut butter (try crunchy peanut butter if you wish); top with the apple butter.
8Place the second half of dough on top of first.
9Brush with milk and sprinkle with a little bit of granulated sugar.
10Cut into strips 5 x ?inches.
11Gently twist twice.
12Place on well-greased cookie sheets and bake in preheated 400°F oven for 7-10 minutes or until light golden brown.
13Do not overbake.
14Serve warm or at room temperature.
