Ingredients:
| 1/4
| cup | Shortening | | 1/4
| cup | Butter or margarine | | 1
| cup | C&H Golden Brown Sugar | | 1
| | Egg, unbeaten | | 1/2
| tsp | Vanilla | | 1
| cup | Sifted all-purpose flour | | 1/2
| tsp | Soda | | 1/2
| tsp | Baking powder | | 1/4
| tsp | Salt | | 1
| cup | Rolled oats | | 1/2
| cup | Corn flakes | | 1/2
| cup | Salted peanuts |

Procedures:
| 1 | Melt shortening and butter over very low heat. | | 2 | Remove from heat and stir in sugar. | | 3 | Add egg and vanilla; beat well. | | 4 | Combine flour, soda, baking powder, and salt; sift into sugar mixture and mix well. | | 5 | Blend in oats, corn flakes, and peanuts. | | 6 | Shape dough into 1" balls. | | 7 | Place 2" apart on greased baking sheet. | | 8 | Bake at 350 °F for 12 to 15 minutes. | | 9 | makes 4 dozen 2" cookies. |
