Ingredients:
1 lbsGround beef
1 tbspInstant minced onion
1/2 tspGarlic salt
1 canTomato sauce (15 oz)
1 cupRipe olives, chopped, sliced
1 cupDairy sour cream (?pint)
1 cupCottage cheese, small curd
1 canGreen chilies, chopped &
- drained (4 oz)
1 packTortilla chips (8 oz)
2 cupJack cheese, grated (8 oz)
Procedures:
1In frying pan, brown ground beef until crumbly.
2Drain excess fat.
3Add onion, garlic salt, and tomato sauce.
4Cook, covered, over low heat just long enough to heat thru.
5Remove from heat and set aside.
6Combine sour cream, cottage cheese, olives and green chilies.
7Set aside.
8Crush tortilla chips slightly, reserving a few whole chips for garnish, if desired.
9Place half of the chips in a well buttered 2 ?quart casserole dish.
10Add half of the meat mixture; cover with half of the sour cream mixture and sprinkle with half of the grated cheese.
11Repeat layers.
12Bake uncovered in 350°F degree oven 35 minutes or until bubbling hot.
13Garnish with saved tortilla chips.
14Serve with sour cream.
15Reduce or eliminate chilies for children or sensitive palates
