Ingredients:

| | To 6 tart apples | | 1/2
| cup | Brown sugar | | 1/4
| tsp | Nutmeg | | 1/4
| tsp | Cinnamon | | 1/4
| tsp | Salt | | 1 1/2
| cup | Flour | | 2
| tsp | Baking powder | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 1/2
| cup | Sugar | | 1
| | Egg -- well beaten | | 1/2
| cup | Milk | | 1/2
| cup | Melted butter |

Procedures:
| 1 | Preheat oven to 350°F. | | 2 | Grease the inside of a 1 ?quart baking dish. | | 3 | Place sliced apples, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and ?teaspoon salt in the dish. | | 4 | Bake apples uncovered until soft, about 20 minutes. | | 5 | While apples are baking, sift together the flour, baking powder, and ?teaspoon salt and sugar. | | 6 | Mix into this the beaten egg, milk and melted butter. | | 7 | Stir gently. | | 8 | Spread the mixture over the apples and continue baking until the top is brown and crusty (about 25 minutes). | | 9 | Serve with whipped cream |
