Ingredients:

| cup | Pitted dark sweet cherries | | 1
| pint | Water (2 cups) | | 1
| | Lemon Juice | | 3
| tbsp | Sugar | | 1
| pint | Whipping cream | | 3
| cup | Cooked egg noodles, if | | | -desired |

Procedures:
| 1 | In a large saucepan, combine cherries and water. | | 2 | Bring to a boil over medium heat. | | 3 | Puree cherries and water in a blender or food processor fitted with a metal blade. | | 4 | Return mixture to saucepan. | | 5 | Add lemon juice to taste, sugar and whipping cream. | | 6 | Gently stir until smooth. | | 7 | Serve hot over noodles, if desired. | | 8 | Or serve chilled. | | 9 | Makes 6 servings variation: substitute red tart cherries for sweet cherries. | | 10 | Do not add lemon juice. | | 11 | Sweeten with sugar to taste |
